JOIN the Executive Board!

The MN Campus Alliance is a completely volunteer organization made of dedicated individuals from across the state. It needs your energy and voice to create change on Minnesota College and university campuses. Join the Executive Board! Become a trainer! Serve on a committee!  To nominate yourself or another person for any of the roles, please complete our nomination survey.  Executive Board will elect positions no later than December 1, 2012. Eligibility Requirements: At the time of their election, the nominee must be a resident of the state of Minnesota, or primarily engaged within the state of Minnesota.

 

Communications Coordinator: Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours a month. Responsibilities Include:  Manage branding guide, update and design MN Campus Alliance print materials, webmaster of MN Campus Alliance web site, manage social media account; and working with Internal Relations Coordinator to schedule minor web site updates.

 

At-Large Representatives (8): Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month.   Responsibilities Include: Acting as a pipeline for the MN Campus Alliance; serving on the Outreach Committee; and working to promote Training and Education Initiatives. After their election, 2 of the 8 At-Large Representatives will be appointed as the Diversity and Inclusion Representative and the Communications Representative, both of which have a time commitment of approximately 30 hours per month.

 

Co-Chairs (2): Time Commitment: Approximately 50 hours per month  Responsibilities Include: Co-Chairing the Board, co-chairing the Governance Committee; calling Board meetings once per month; assigning tasks to Coordinators, Representatives, and the Ex-Officio Board Members at needs; providing organizational structure and ensuring the organization is fulfilling every aspect of its mission and goals; working with the Development and Finance Coordinators to create a budget; and maintaining a public image consistent with the values and expectations of the MN Campus Alliance and its Board.

 

Ex-Officio  Compliance Board Member: Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month. Responsibilities Include: The Ex-Officio Compliance Bard Member will work closely with the Cho-Chairs, the Development and Finance Coordinators, and as needed with other Coordinators ensure that all accounting practices, tax reporting, donor fund and budget management, insurance matters, conflict of interest investigations, and payroll responsibilities, are managed and completed on a timely bases and in compliance with the law. Additionally, they shall draft implementation guide to the MN Campus Alliance governance and finance policies; and shall ensure that all members of the Board are trained on all policies and procedures. Additionally, in partnership with the Board, they will negotiate, draft, and manage the terms of the MN Campus Alliance’s relationship with other organizations.

 

Education Coordinator: Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per month. Responsibilities include: The Education Coordinator chairs the Education Committee and manages the Training and Education Program; coordinates the training and educating of the MN Campus Alliance Executive Board; develops and implements educational trainings that serve college campuses and corporations; advertises, promotes, and schedules trainings; and works with Lead Trainers, Trainers, Trainers-in-Training, Panelists and additional observers to ensure trainings are adequately staffed. 

 

Development Coordinator: Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per month.

Responsibilities Include: Chairing the Development Committee; being the primary contact for recruiting sponsors for signature events and streaming fundraising processes; researching fundraising and granting opportunities; coordinating all fundraising opportunities, building individual, community, and corporate donor bases; building and maintaining relationships with current and potential donors; working with the Finance Coordinator to create budgets and projected goals for fundraising.

 

Finance Coordinator: Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per month. Responsibilities Include:  The Finance Coordinator’s responsibilities include chairing the Finance Committee; maintaining the MN Campus Alliance finances; collecting receipts and sending out invoices and reimbursements with respect to all financial transactions; completing and reporting financial statements and recent financial activities at each Board meeting; insuring the timely and accurate submission of all taxes and financial documentation to the IRS and MDR; overseeing the MN Campus Alliance’s budget in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; and working with the Development Coordinator and Co-Chairs to create budgets and projected goals for fundraising. 

 

Outreach Coordinator: Time Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per monthThe Outreach Coordinator’s responsibilities include chairing the Outreach Committee; working with the Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator for the recruiting, retention, and long-term strategies toward maintaining a diverse membership consistent with the mission, vision, and diversity statement of the MN Campus Alliance; building and maintaining MN Campus Alliance membership; identifying and organizing staffing at events where MN Campus Alliance can table or display literature; and working with the At-Large Representatives to reach out to students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members across the state to develop pipelines across Minnesota colleges and university campuses.
